Sorry for the silence around here – I was on a road trip! Now that school has started, I want to make sure that I continue to swatch & blog since I so much enjoy having this outlet.
I recently picked up Sinful Colors’ Bikini, a glowing, near neon pink with lots of shimmer. Sinful Colors is a line of 3 free nail polishes carried at Walgreen’s, Rite Aid, and other stores (but not CVS.) The polishes usually retail for $1.99, though they go on sale every once in a while for 99 cents.
Bikini is close to Daredevil, but it dries a little less flat than Daredevil does. I’ll be sure to post a comparison swatch soon so that you can compare the two colors, also.
Do you have this color? What are some of your favorite pinks?
I loaded up on some polishes during Walgreen’s 99 cent sale on Sinful Colors polishes a couple weeks ago, and I’m just now getting around to swatching them. Sinful Colors is a line of 3 free nail polishes carried at Walgreen’s and other department stores that retail for $1.99. While they aren’t available at CVS, some colors are carried at Rite Aid.
One of the polishes I picked up is Social Ladder, a very sheer pinkish white base with pink and blue microshimmer.
I really like the shimmer in this polish, but it’s pretty streaky, even after 3 coats.
I’m thinking of combining this with Wet ‘n Wild’s Sugar Coat in order to make it appear more opaque.
What do you think of this polish and milky polishes in general?
Cinderella was among the first Sinful Colors polishes I picked up. Cinderella is a pale, milky blue with pink and gold glass fleck and is inspired by the color of Cinderella’s gown. Sinful Colors is a line of 3 free nail polishes carried at Walgreen’s and other department stores for $1.99 per bottle. Though they aren’t available at CVS (the most popular drugstore chain in the DC area), they are available at Rite Aid, which carries exclusive colors, such as Citrine.
I wish the formula wasn’t quite so sheer. I used 4 coats, and it’s nowhere near opaque. But the fleck is really pretty, so I’ll keep experimenting with some layering combos until I find the right match.
Do you have this polish or any recommendations for good layering combos? Do you have any sheer polishes that you wish were just slightly more pigmented?

I recently stopped into a Walgreen’s to check out their selection of nail polishes when I saw the Sinful Colors display and picked up a few polishes. Sinful Colors is another 3 free line of polishes that retail for $1.99. In addition to Walgreen’s, Sinful Colors is also sold by department stores in the US.
Mint Apple was among the first colors I purchased. It’s a minty pistachio green with silver flecks. It’s gorgeous and one of my favorite polishes in my collection.
In the bottle, it looks similar to Spoiled’s Toad-ally Amazing, but the formula is much easier to apply and looks better on the nail. I used two coats in these photos.
The color is simply fantastic, and the shimmer is such a pleasant surprise. Do you own this color? What are your favorite colors in this line?
In an attempt to try more teals and blues, I grabbed this polish while shopping for some essentials at CVS. Confetti‘s Too Teal to Handle is a blue-leaning teal with a subtle, gorgeous gold shimmer. Confetti is a 3 free nail polish that retails for $1.99 and sold exclusively by CVS. According to the Confetti website, the line includes 48 colors.
I didn’t noticed the shimmer until I applied the polish to the nail. Unfortunately, it’s so subtle that it was nearly impossible to capture in the photographs. The formula was super easy to work with, and it reached opacity in 2 coats.

The delicate gold shimmer in this polish enhances the beauty, making it gorgeous and perfect for summer. What are your favorite summer colors? Any NOTS (nails of the summer) to share?
I thought that super shimmers and near frosts and I didn’t get along, but I saw Confetti‘s Purple Pizzazz, which has restored my hope! It’s a pinkish lavender near foil and super shimmery polish. Confetti is a 3 free nail polish that retails for $1.99 and sold exclusively by CVS. According to the Confetti website, the line includes 48 colors.
This makes the color look a little darker than it actually is, but it does show the swirly shimmer very well!
Just looking at this photo, I want to go paint my nails this color. It’s so pretty and shimmery! Have you ever given a finish or color a second chance and have it work out?
