NOTD – My Le Tigre Inspired Manicure & Cover Band Sticks ‘n Stones Swatch

I’ve been itching to do a Le Tigre inspired manicure, and the Le Tigre/Gossip album artwork kept popping into my head.

I also received Cover Band’s Sticks ‘n Stones in the mail, which lends itself perfectly to my inspiration. I decided to use Sinful Colors’ Boom Boom, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics’ Traffic, and the aforementioned Sticks ‘n Stones. I also used Essie’s Good to Go as a fast dry top coat (not pictured.)

I am so very pleased with how this manicure turned out, and I cannot stop staring at my nails! I was also able to incorporate femme flagging by using the grad student flag again. Sticks ‘n Stones is amazing, and I’m contemplating ordering a second bottle. I have so many ideas to layer it over Essie’s Turquoise & Caicos, Confetti’s Lonesome Dove, Confetti’s Belle of the Ball

I haven’t yet swatched and reviewed Boom Boom, but I love this polish. It’s a bright fuschia jelly, and it achieved the perfect coverage in two coats. It didn’t bubble at all, and with the Essie topcoat, it dried quickly. Sticks ‘n Stones is really amazing, and I look forward to practicing the placement of the glitters. Do you have Sticks ‘n Stones? If so, what are your favorite polishes to layer it over? Do you have any polishes similar to Sticks ‘n Stones that you think I should check out?

NOTD: My Grey & Yellow Manicure

I love the grey and yellow color combination, so I decided to do a grey manicure with a yellow accent nail. This is also the femme flag for grad student (think highlighters! No one picked up on the flag, but I also only wore the manicure for a day or two. I used the following colors in my manicure.

From left to right: Sinful Colors’ Slate, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Traffic, Essie’s Pure Pearlfection, Sinful Color’s Let’s Meet

On all but the third-finger accent, I used a based coat (not pictured), two coats of Slate with one coat of Pure Pearlfection, followed by a top coat (also not pictured.) For the accent nail, I used two coats of Traffic followed by one coat of Let’s Meet to provide a shimmery, mustardy color. It was great!

I wore this for a couple days before I had the chance to take pictures, so there is some signs of wear. My middle finger nail tip also started to peel a bit, but I was so enamored with the Slate + Pure Pearlfection combo that I really wanted to share it with you. What is your favorite manicure of the moment?
